Fidali and Carruleddhi: a patronal festival shaped by its community
The Fidali committees and the carruleddhi race are part of Santa Teresa Gallura's patronal festival. Here is what the sources confirm for 2026.
Who are the Fidali?
For many years, Santa Teresa Gallura's patronal festival has been organized by a committee of Fidali, people from the same birth year. The local tourism office describes this custom alongside religious celebrations, music and popular games.
For the festival on 13–17 October 2026, the Municipality names the Fidali 1982 committee as organizer. That designation belongs to this edition: the organizing group changes from year to year. The municipal programme also lists food stands run by the Fidali and a handover to Fidali 1983 on the final evening.
The carruleddhi race
The tourism office includes the race of li carruleddhi among the festival's traditional activities. In the 2026 municipal programme, the Carruleddhi Show is scheduled for Saturday 17 October at 14:30, following the presentation of competitors and their vehicles.
The race is one part of a wider programme honouring Saint Victor the Martyr, Saint Teresa of Ávila and Saint Isidore the Farmer. Visitors should check the organizers' latest notices for any changes to times or arrangements.
